Gap Analysis

Compliance

Gap Analysis identifies the difference between your current security posture and what your compliance frameworks require — so you can close gaps before an audit.

Overview

A "gap" is a control that is not yet satisfied based on your current findings, integration data, and workflow check results. Gap Analysis surfaces these gaps, prioritizes them, and tracks remediation progress.

Why it matters

Auditors find gaps you didn't know existed. Proactive gap analysis means:

  • Fewer audit surprises — Find and fix gaps before the auditor does
  • Prioritized remediation — Focus on gaps with highest compliance impact
  • Continuous compliance — Not a once-a-year scramble

Compliance is continuous, not annual. Gap analysis runs on your schedule so your posture is always current.

How it works

1. Framework selection

Your organization selects applicable frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.). Each framework has a set of controls.

2. Assessment

Satark AI assesses your current posture against each control by checking:

  • Findings from connected integrations
  • Workflow check results
  • Policy and document status

3. Gap identification

Controls that are not satisfied are flagged as gaps, with:

  • Which framework and control is affected
  • What finding or check caused the gap
  • Recommended remediation
  • Severity and compliance impact

4. Remediation tracking

As your team resolves findings and applies fixes, gaps close automatically. Progress is visible in Regulatory Defensibility and the CISO Dashboard.

Who uses it

  • Compliance managers — Audit preparation and gap remediation planning
  • Security engineers — Understanding which findings have compliance impact
  • CISOs — Compliance risk in executive reporting
